Difficult

* Distance: 10 to 15 miles (16 to 24 kilometers)

* Terrain: Trails with significant obstacles, such as large rocks, roots, and steep slopes
* Technical difficulty: May involve some more difficult rock climbing or water crossings

Very Difficult

* Distance: 15 to 20 miles (24 to 32 kilometers)
* Elevation gain: 3,000 to 4,000 feet (900 to 1,200 meters)
* Terrain: Trails with very significant obstacles, including off-trail sections
* Technical difficulty: May involve significant rock climbing or water crossings

Extreme
