Outdoor Photography Assistant Wanted: Join Our Adventure!220

Are you a passionate outdoor enthusiast with a keen eye for detail and a love for capturing breathtaking landscapes? Do you thrive in challenging environments and possess a strong work ethic? If so, we're looking for you! We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outdoor Photography Assistant to join our team for an exciting series of upcoming projects across diverse and stunning locations.

This isn't your average 9-to-5 job. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the heart of nature while contributing to visually stunning photographic projects. You'll be working alongside a seasoned professional photographer, assisting with all aspects of outdoor photography, from pre-production planning to post-production editing. This is a chance to learn from the best, expand your skills, and build an impressive portfolio.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Pre-production Assistance: This includes researching locations, obtaining necessary permits, assisting with gear preparation and organization, and contributing to shot planning and scouting.
On-Location Assistance: This involves physically assisting the photographer during shoots, carrying equipment (expect to carry up to 30 lbs), setting up and breaking down gear, maintaining equipment cleanliness and functionality, and acting as a general assistant to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow. This often requires working in varied and sometimes challenging weather conditions.
Post-Production Assistance: This may involve assisting with image organization, basic editing tasks (e.g., color correction, cropping), and archiving of images. Experience with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop is a plus but not mandatory.
Logistics and Support: This includes assisting with travel arrangements (where applicable), managing supplies, and ensuring the overall safety and well-being of the team during outdoor expeditions.
Maintaining a Positive Attitude: This is crucial! Long days, unpredictable weather, and physically demanding tasks are part of the job. A positive, can-do attitude is essential for a successful and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Qualifications:

We're looking for someone who possesses the following skills and qualities:
Proven Passion for the Outdoors: You must genuinely enjoy spending extended periods of time in nature, regardless of weather conditions. Experience with hiking, camping, or other outdoor activities is essential.
Physical Fitness and Stamina: This position requires physical strength and endurance. You'll be carrying equipment, hiking over uneven terrain, and potentially working long hours in demanding environments.
Strong Work Ethic and Reliability: Punctuality, responsibility, and a willingness to go the extra mile are crucial. This is a collaborative effort, and your reliability is vital to the success of the projects.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy and meticulousness are essential, especially when handling valuable photographic equipment.
Teamwork and Communication Skills: You'll be working closely with the photographer and potentially other team members. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are necessary.
Basic Photography Knowledge (Preferred): While not mandatory, a basic understanding of photography principles and techniques will be advantageous. A passion for photography and a desire to learn is more important than extensive prior experience.
Valid Driver's License (Preferred): Having a valid driver's license may be beneficial for certain projects, depending on location and logistical needs.
First Aid/CPR Certification (Preferred): While not required, holding a current First Aid/CPR certification is highly desirable for safety reasons, particularly in remote locations.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will include a competitive hourly rate or project-based fee. Specific details will be discussed during the interview process. While accommodation and some meals may be provided during extended shoots, this will be dependent on the specific project requirements. This position offers invaluable on-the-job experience and the opportunity to build a strong portfolio while working in some of the most beautiful locations in the world.

To Apply:

If you're ready for an adventure and believe you possess the necessary skills and passion, please submit your resume, a cover letter highlighting your relevant experience and enthusiasm for outdoor photography, and a link to your online portfolio (if applicable) to [Insert Email Address Here]. In your cover letter, please also describe a challenging outdoor experience you have overcome and how you demonstrated resilience and teamwork in that situation. We look forward to hearing from you!

Note: This position may require travel to various locations, both domestically and potentially internationally. Applicants should be prepared for physically demanding work and varying weather conditions. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
